How to stay connected with Gmail

clipped from www.makeuseof.com

Gmail Logo I live in Gmail. In fact my entire life gets run by Gmail in every possible conceivable way (except for cooking my dinner which is the next Gmail feature that I am waiting for!). I am now running a little experiment to see how much information I can collate from inside Gmail without having to visit other sites. With a staggering 5GB of Gmail space, I think there’s no danger anytime soon of running out of space!

The key is to think of all the routine day-to-day things that you do online and then think “how can I do that from inside Gmail?”. Is there a RSS feed or other forwarding service that I can take advantage of? Are there any web services that can be accessed directly from an email ?

Need help with choosing website keywords

clipped from www.makeuseof.com

goodkeywordsinterface.png As any successful webmaster / blogger will tell you, the key to a successful website is to get the right keywords. The keywords are the words that search engine users will use to find websites that they are looking for. So it pays to get it right, whether you are optimizing your website meta-tags, post titles or working out which keywords to use in your next Google Adwords campaign. You can’t do a slapdash job otherwise you’ll find that your nice shiny new website doesn’t get any visitors.

I used to find it extremely tiring researching keywords. I’d be sitting in front of Google or Yahoo for ages typing in random phrases and seeing what popped up. I’d be looking at places such as Technorati or Google Blog Search and I would still be clueless as to what keywords I should be using to make my blog more accessible to the discerning web surfer. But then I discovered a neat free little program called “Good Keywords” which takes all the stress out of the process.

Geevee - share your Halo3 videos online

clipped from www.geevee.com

So something cool happened when you were playing Halo 3.
You want to put in on Geevee but you’re way too lazy to do it yourself.

How this thing works…

  1. Make sure you save and share the film so we can access it.

  2. Just fill out the info on the left and let us grab it.

  3. When the video is available, it will be posted under your account with the information you provided.

Things to remember…

You have to wait until the last video you submitted is available before you can submit another.

There is a 45 minute limit to the video length. If your video is too long, try editing it with Halo 3’s built in feature.

This is a beta, be patient while the hamsters run.
