XBOX Live is 5ive gamerpoint gift with bonus

Got my email yesterday from MS. A cool 500 MS points and a ’special’ gamerpic, yeah!

Microsoft (cutting it rather close to their December 21st deadline) just sent out the promised LIVE is 5IVE 500 Microsoft point gift to Xbox Live subscribers who’ve been subscribed since 2002. If you registered for your gift last month and are a legit member of the Xbox Live class of 2002 then check your inbox, because your 500 Microsoft point code should be there. And as an added bonus, Microsoft also threw in a special “Founding Member” LIVE is 5IVE gamer picture download code as well. Spend your 500 Microsoft points wisely, sport your new gamer picture with pride and take comfort in knowing that your five year, $250 total subscription hasn’t gone un-noticed.

Breathe New Life into your Old Gadgets

clipped from lifehacker.com

With all the buying that goes on this time of year, our aging gadgets seem older, more out-of-date, and just plain obsolete in the face of all the shiny new toys glimmering on the display rack—which, of course, is part of what motivates us to pry open our wallets for newer and better stuff. But this year, instead of forking over more cash to the likes of Jobs and Gates for their newest toys, we’re taking a look at several ways to make your old gadgets new again. From the iPod and Xbox to a run-of-the-mill PC, chances are you’ve got something lying around the house that could use a free or cheap upgrade.

Xbox360fanboy.com - High-res Halo3 rank artwork

clipped from www.xbox360fanboy.com

The Halo 3 insignia rank artwork that is available on Bungie.net is so 1998. It’s low-res, .gif based and is just so darn … “meh”. But fret not artwork lovers, because halo.bungie.org member Beorn is here to save the day with re-worked, re-created and oh so beautiful insignia artwork. Beorn took the liberty of re-creating all the Halo 3 ranked military insignias (everything from Recruit through General Grade 4) in vector form and super high res .png files. The new insignia artwork is spot on accurate and allows you to use your Halo 3 military rank for any high-res need that you may have. Thanks Beorn, now we feel like we’re living in the digital artwork age of 2007.

Geevee - share your Halo3 videos online

clipped from www.geevee.com

So something cool happened when you were playing Halo 3.
You want to put in on Geevee but you’re way too lazy to do it yourself.

How this thing works…

  1. Make sure you save and share the film so we can access it.

  2. Just fill out the info on the left and let us grab it.

  3. When the video is available, it will be posted under your account with the information you provided.

Things to remember…

You have to wait until the last video you submitted is available before you can submit another.

There is a 45 minute limit to the video length. If your video is too long, try editing it with Halo 3’s built in feature.

This is a beta, be patient while the hamsters run.

Gamer picture viewer

clipped from www.xbox360fanboy.com
So, you’ve got a shiny new Xbox 360 and you’re all set up to play except for one thing: your Gamer Picture. It’s an important step in creating your online identity after all. Heck, even veterans like to change things up once in a while. So, if you find yourself still saddled with stupid green circles or that weird Darth Vader skull thing, we’ve got just the solution for you. Introducing the Gamerpic Scout from MyGamerCard.net. More or less, the Scout is simply a Gamerpic search engine. Just enter a word — “zombie” for example — and you’ll be directed to all the Gamerpics associated with that word (you can also search for pics by Gamertag). Click on one of the icons that pops up — let’s say Master Chief from Halo 3 — and it will tell you how much it costs and whether or not it’s still available.

Your Halo3 stats missing?

clipped from www.xbox360fanboy.com

One of the most entertaining aspects of Halo 3 is all of the statistics culled from each game. Some players out there may have noticed that their stats in game are not appearing correctly on Bungie.net. Lukems has made a post noting that Bungie is aware of the issue and it should be fixed posthaste. Ranks should be updated correctly once some maintenance is complete, though you’ll have to play at least one game of Halo 3 for your Bungie.net profile to update. It’s good that they’re fixing it, because otherwise no one would believe the tale of our awesome shotgun spree. Unless they watched our saved clip, of course (shameless plug, we know).
